FPL (Fantasy Football)

Game week 3 (31st Aug – 1st September)

Fuming! The only way to describe the way I’m feeling right now with FPL. The Nordic tornado continues to gather pace with another hattrick and I’m losing my head.

My only saving grace is the Egyptian King, who registered 17 points, with a goal and 2 assist and maximum bonus points. My issue is, I don’t see Haaland slowing down anytime soon and my opps seem to be benefitting weekly from his exploits.

If it wasn’t for the Man City man, this week wouldn’t have been a bad week to be honest. This week’s average was 64 and I got a respectable 67.

I went against my gut and captained Saka- I usually do not captain people who play a 12:30pm kick off and although Saka did get 6 points, I missed out on a captaining Salah which would have kept me in the running for top sport.

My front 3 in Jackson (6), Isak (9) and Havertz (8) had decent returns, and this soothed the pain of missing out on Haaland.

Firing blanks (well almost)

I have some serious thinking about these two below: 3 games in and they have averaged 2 points per game which is costing me dearly. They pass the aesthetic test but don’t have anything to show for it- so is it time to make changes?

Looking at other options below:

At 7.6 M, Luiz Diaz seems like a bargain, already amassing 32 points and his next 3 fixtures are looking juicy with 2 home games. Mbeumo has always been a reliable FPL pick, however Brentford have some tough games against Man City and Spurs coming up.

So we get a week off as there is international break- so I’ll keeping an eye on any injuries etc before making decisions for game week 4. Until then see below my current state in the leagues I am involved in …

And finally, the league that counts… Falling by 4 spots, however still only 36 points behind the leader. I’ll need to start clawing these back before the gap gets too wide.
